You are now ready to begin taking measurements to
check color values. The type of measurement data that
displays depends on the way you set up your instrument
earlier in this section.
To measure a sample:
1. Make sure Sample is highlighted on the screen and
center the target window over area to be measured.
2. Lower unit to target window and hold closed.
3. Once measurement data is displayed, release the unit.
4. Measurement data appears either as actual color
values or difference values.
Viewing Actual Color and Color Difference Data
There are several different combinations of mode and
method settings that affect the way the measurement data
is displayed.
Actual Color Measurements
If you set the color options to
L*a*b* (color space), Lab
(tolerance), and
2deg observer, your measurement data
appears like this:
Color Difference Measurements
If you set the color options to
L*a*b* (color space), Lab
(tolerance),
2 degree observer and reference 2, your
measurement data appears like this:
Delta values appear, indicating the sample difference.
